Gary Godard - Medical Malpractice Attorney

Mr. Godard main practice areas include Plaintiff’s Medical, Hospital, HMO, and Nursing Home Malpractice.

Before becoming a lawyer, Gary was a pilot in the USAF and then for Pan American World Airways and Northwest Airlines. During law school he worked in Medical Malpractice claims for the then-largest insurer of doctors in the U.S. and after passing the Bar, as Staff Attorney for the same company, where he immediately became active in the Trial defense of medical malpractice suits. Gary then spent eight years, first as associate, then partner, in a forty-five lawyer law firm, followed by some sixteen years in the defense firm which he co-founded in the Washington metropolitan area. During that time he litigated in excess of 200 medical malpractice cases, spanning virtually all medical specialties. He has been repeatedly elected (by his fellow lawyers) to membership in Best Lawyers in America, and has on multiple occasions (including the most recent 2004 edition) been named by Washingtonian Magazine in their listing of Washington Area Top Lawyers.

Gary joined Miller & Associates in 2001 and became the managing attorney for the firm’s Medical Malpractice department, and has focused solely upon the representation of those individuals, and their families, who have been injured by medical, hospital, HMO, or nursing home malpractice, both in the metropolitan area and throughout the United States.

Gary earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma. He then attended American University, Washington College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor.

Gary is a member of the Virginia, District of Columbia and Maryland State Bars (Including Federal Courts & Courts of Appeal) , the American Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America
