David C. Andersen - Personal Injury Attorney, International

In 2000 David became the official Reporter of Judicial Decisions and the Statutory Code Reviser for the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a recently-created jurisdiction whose Supreme Court decisions are now appealed directly to the U.S. Supreme Court. While in the Marianas, David also worked at the law firm of O’Connor Berman Dotts & Banes on cases including a nationwide class action suit against island-based garment factories, and a $600 million island-based estate probate claim by international heir-claimants.

From 2003-2005 David worked for a Singapore company collecting worldwide accounts receivable for state-subsidized export credit insurance companies from Europe, India, China, Australia and Japan, specializing in international conflict-of-laws issues governing corporate debt-recovery cases using cross-border insolvency proceedings.

Before joining Miller & Associates, David worked at Shurtz Law Office in Arlington, Virginia specializing in appellate practice and conflicts of law, specifically compulsory insurance laws between Maryland and the District of Columbia.

David earned his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Maryland and competed internationally on the U.S. National Acrobatic Gymnastics team. After a first career coaching competitive acrobatics and gymnastics, he then attended Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he earned his Juris Doctor, and furthered his legal education at Golden Gate University in San Francisco with a Master's in International Law. David was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Tort Law, May 1994.
